2 Timothy 3:16-17 teaches that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
The Bible is our source of divine instruction. It is the means through which God reveals Himself and His will to mankind today. As the written Word of God, the Bible is infallible truth (see John 17:17). This truth is not just for education’s sake, but relates to “all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3).
The inspired truth of God has the ability to take us from where we are to where we need to be. As the apostle Paul said in Acts 20:32, “I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”
By hearing God’s Word with the right heart, we can gain faith in the Lord (Romans 10:17), and live fruitful lives (Matthew 13:23). By hearing God’s Word and responding to it rightly, we can escape the wages of sin, which is eternal condemnation in hell, and gain hope of eternal life in heaven (Romans 6:23).
We invite all to come hear lessons from the inspired Word of God this week during our Gospel meeting.
Brother David Tant will be preaching during each assembly. He has provided the following list of sermon topics and descriptions of what will be covered.
Sunday Class – “Unto All the World” – A belief look at the work of spreading the Word in various nations around the world.
Sunday A.M. “Jesus Loves Me” – A heartfelt message taken from the beloved children’s song that has a great message even 160 years after it was written.
Sunday P.M. – “A Prophet Sharing Plan” – The church grows when people are added, and people are added when Christians seek the lost. This is a vital function we all share, not just the preacher.
Monday – “The Greatness of Christ” – In this study, we will seek to contemplate the transcendent glory of Jesus Christ, our High Priest
Tuesday – “What Went Wrong?” – As the things written before are “for our learning” (Romans15:4), we want to learn some valuable lessons about parenting from the story of the priest Eli.
Wednesday – “Keys to Helping Your Kids to Say ‘No’” – We live in a world where Satan is winning many battles that lead young people into the depths of sin. But our creator has given us good strategy to overcome Satan’s wiles.
Thursday – “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” – In this world we face many trials and tribulations—some of us more than others. How do we deal with this? How do we overcome? There is an answer.
Friday – “The Restoration Plea” – The so-called “Christian” churches in America have gone so far astray from Biblical teaching, and so far divided, with some 42,000 different denominations, that one may wonder if there is any hope for simple, Biblical Christianity? There is a simple solution, and this we will discuss in the lesson.
Gospel meetings are wonderful opportunities for those outside the body of Christ to learn and obey the truth. They are also great opportunities for Christians to be edified as we worship God and receive spiritual nourishment.
May we take advantage of opportunities such as these to be spiritually strengthened, strengthen one another, and draw nearer to God.
